Mod meet and greet!

So I wanted to make a little thread that lets a lot of you get to know some of us mods and site staff a bit better. I know that some of you already know us, and this is mostly for anyone new and curious, but I wanted to say hello and have a little about each of us, and I hope the rest of site staff joins in!


 I'm Mermalaide.
In addition to posting with friends on here, you will see me float around doing various things. Sometimes I am Umbraflamma's proofreader (and compulsive note-taker). I play a lot of characters (Tatsu Soma ,Momiji Fujiwara, and Tsubasa Mochizuki), NPCs (Saito Shibara,Chikage Yamabuki,Father Dorian,Sister Agnes Francis) and some Yokai (mostly for random events)! I am not gonna lie, I will likely add more NPCs, I currently have a tab open for that.

As for me, I love to sew and write. I play a lot of survival horror, cooking/rhythm games. When I get the extra time, there is no cup of tea big enough or book long enough for me. I enjoy bands like The Midnight,Siouxsie and the Banshees,The Cure, and Heilung to name a few. I am a recovering Patapon Addict, and a current Twisted Wonderland addict.

I look forward to writing with everyone here at the very least once! Let's write stories together! I know that is hella cheesy BUT

I forgot I deleted my welcome thread when testing the site. *cough* Anyways It's been requested of me to say a few words.

I'm Ashken, Apprentice Code Monkey, Mutt and format fan (at least when I have time to indulge in it). You may know me from other handles in the internet such as Twilightriku, Requiem and Dark Prince among others that have been forgotten in the long-lost history of the internet. I've been writing most of my life, I started Rp-ing for real 2007 though I had dabbled a little bit before that. 

Used to be the mod and then Admin of another corner of the internet, (a place I will once day hopefully rescue from the hands of corporate interference... even if only to preserve its history) took a short hiatus on being active in the writing community and have been trying to get back on that horse. 

Doors and DM's are always open. I write all sort of stuff, but if you enjoy more lighthearted threads and slice of life shenanigans, I'm always available. I might not always be the fastest gun, but I tend to be accurate.

Ah i just noticed that i never posted in this, I am Umbraflamma. I play the role of de-facto admin, but the team is a bit more egalitarian than most. I dabble in a number of different disciplines but for the most part I'm here to unwind and tell good stories with the rest of the community. Been RPing since around 2010 or so, I'm a huge fan of SMT, Persona, Anime in general, big fan of final fantasy and the trails series. For the most part i generally approach people with the desire to like them, so no need to worry about me getting petty or rude, i frankly don't have the time or energy for major drama.

I view my role as more of a protector of the community than it's lord or master. As long as you're telling good stories and being positive, polite and respectful there's no reason to worry. As long as you don't come here with the intention of stirring problems, I want to be your friend. I did previously admin a persona site, and learned some important lessons i plan to apply as guiding principles. If you have an idea but aren't sure if it might work with the setting, the answer is that it probably can, feel free to drop me a line, or the others in this thread, we want to facilitate your creativity not arbitrarily restrict it.  Please don't be shy, i want to get as engrossed in your stories as you are telling them, and hey maybe we can collaborate on something truly legendary.
