Nationality/Cultural Group: Matsumoto, Shimano Province was where she lived with her parents and younger brother originally. Her father is a rural police captain that trains police dogs. She just graduated from the high school academy and is working on her first year of training with the Shinsengumi.

Weight: (I am not really good at weight, so I will give a body description)Athletic, tall, with lean muscle and minimal curves.She is feminine, but fairly strong,which comes from constantly training in the sword arts.

Affiliations: Her family is with the Fujiwara clan as a minor family. Her father works in the rural police department where they live. Momiji though has had to reconcile with the fact that in a year or so she will have to sever family allegiances. For as long as Momiji can remember, she has been somewhat stigmatized from the Honda clan for her partial albinism. Her eyes being red was considered a bad omen. She also did not seem to have much magic proclivity(though later she gained a pact with an inugami), so she trained hard in the martial and sword arts, hunting with her father and uncle, dreaming of work later in life with the Shinsengumi. She has a strong sense of justice and has been working hard towards her goal as a junior member of the Shinsengumi.
Appearance: Long, straight, and ink black hair cut in a hime cut. Very much a noble woman’s hair, something you would see in classic prints. Garnet colored eyes from ocular albinism. Typically seen in training gear, riding clothing, or hunting garb. If she is in anything else she typically wears a nicely put together kimono. She’s what one would consider a classic tomboy in some senses. She has very sharp eyes, which can be intimidating. A smile that can only be described as wolfish, or even carnivorous. Graceful form when moving. Canine teeth that seem a little more pronounced than the rest of her teeth, which only seem noticeable during a rictus-style grin.
Belongings: She carries a satchel of basic items for training on her, her practice tanto, and a naginata that is sheathed in its scabbard. She doesn’t need much, though, she does always keep a water bottle, phone, and some jerky on her. Momiji is constantly hungry from workouts and training, which is endless. There’s also a basic change of clothes with her.
Personality: Quiet, curious, and somewhat scrutinizing. Momiji tends to stare and examine a lot. She’s the type to take everything in, noticing much. She also loves to tease. However, when it comes to combat she’s competitive and will not let up. What might make people nervous is how much she examines. Or the rictus-like grin that spreads over her face that could be almost described as wolf -like. Momiji has a strong interest in law enforcement which, coupled with curiosity can get her into a little bit of trouble. She might seem morally ambiguous in some ways, but things run a lot deeper than that, she is very loyal and altruistic.
Character Strengths:Athletic, scrutinizing/analyzing, and generally very attentive. She has a drive that can be both positive and negative in its stubbornness. Once she latches onto something or gets a whiff, she doesn’t let go. She will chase a lead to the ends of the earth. Momiji’s reaction time is also terrifying.It’s very animalistic in its instinct. Her fighting style is both lethal in its efficiency and graceful, like the samurai death haikus of old.
Character Flaws: Momiji When she’s not training or working hard, she can come off as a bit lazy, she also is curious enough to not really mind her own business. Her stubbornness when dealing with a lead or an obstacle is pretty intense. While it can be an asset the flipside is that she is intimidating and often difficult to be on the other side of. Also because of the passive ‘Garou’ sensitivity to smells and sounds.
Backstory:Momiji is the first born of a samurai family loyal to the Shogunate. Her family belongs to the Honda clan and are loyalists. Her parents are a model family within this system. Her father works in local law enforcement in their area and has a spotless record. Her mother was from a good family and was originally a shrine maiden at their local shrine, something she had wished to pass to Momiji, that Momiji has passed on. Momiji is very much her father’s daughter, having a very keen eye for justice. Her ocular albinism has given her the unique opportunity to pursue this due to the superstitious nature of nobility. Her eyes make her someone that is not generally considered well matched for marriage or politics.
While on the outskirts of Matsumoto, the family’s dwelling is a fairly well to do country estate. It is not grand, for space is at a premium in that area, but it is beautiful and well kept, more than enough for their family and a few extended families. Momiji, her father and her uncle often go hunting in the mountains or train with weaponry. Hideki Fujiwara was a man very well versed in swordsmanship, something that he found his daughter had a knack for. Off-duty training for some of the rural officers often take place in the small studio out in the back of the grounds. It's mostly for Judo sparring, but often there is sword technique practiced. Something also in the back is a kennel for some of the unit’s hunting dogs, which the children are often tasked with feeding, though Momiji would often do this herself or with her uncle, Noritaka.
Because of this, at the age of ten, Momiji attracted the attention of a yokai, specifically an Inugami. While Inugami are typically very malicious, due to their mistreatment as dogs when they were alive, seeing Momiji and her family truly care for each dog, teach, spoil and protect them with absolute love and loyalty gave the Inugami pause. As it hung around the family, it grew attached to young Momiji, enthralled by her kindness as well as her sense of duty, and later justice. Before it could be excised from the property, it bonded with the girl, pledging to always be a part of her, and changing her indefinitely.
Family, Friends Etc:
•Hideki Fujiwara (Father) Head of house, a stern, quiet policeman that loves detective novels, and having a beer with his bath on his off time. He rarely says two words to his children, but he is patient and loving. He’s in his 40s with thick salt and pepper hair and a stocky build, usually seen with his nose in a book or hunched over something. He’s quite tall as well!
•Momoka Fujiwara( Mother) A busy woman that wishes she had more daughters, or at least one that was more interested in helping around the house. Is well versed in poetry, tea ceremony, and used to be a maiden at the local shrine. She is a shrewd taskmaster that generally beats the drum the house marches to. Almost 40, with long dark hair. Momiji gets her dark hair from her mother, as well as her delicate features. Her children and husband are a lot bigger than she is, not that that matters.
• Hisashi Fujiwara(Second child after Momiji) A quiet young man that loves to paint wildlife, is obsessed with Kendo, and writes poetry for the girl next door. He can hunt like his father, uncle and sister, but prefers the company of his mother and quieter people. Dark hair, tall and thin, with glasses that generally cover his eyes. He always has a peaceful expression that could be mistaken for apathy. 14yrs.
• Daichi Fujiwara (Third child, youngest) Noisy, underfoot, and likely a future bancho. He wants to hunt but is too young, loves to pester his older siblings, and loves Super Sentai. Watch out, he used to bite! He’s eight, a little chubby, has dark eyes and hair like his father. He looks like a miniature version of Hideki.
•Noritaka Abe (Hideki’s friend and an adopted uncle) Has known Hideki since they were children, and went into law enforcement with him. He’s sort of an eternal bachelor. He has a passion for justice, but is also somewhat of a dirty old man according to Momoka, to which he always gives a cheese grin. If Jigen from Lupin III had a doppelganger, this guy would be it. Like his friend, he is in his 40s. He has an almost permanent five o’clock shadow and slicked back hair with his suit.
•Saito Shibara (Mentor with the Shinsengumi) Momiji was assigned to him this year. He is the polar opposite to her uncle’s wild sloppy ways, everything he does is by the book and he has the recruits he trains on a tight leash so to speak.
Powers:Pact with a yokai
Power Theme: Momiji’s theme is Black dog of the Shinsengumi. She’s a human that has entered into an unknowing pact with a yokai, and augmented from that experience. She takes inspiration from the whole trope about the wolves of Mibu (a reference to the Shinesngumi) but in her case it is a big, black inugami.
Rank C Ability: ‘Run rabbit! Run!’- Momiji gains the ability to run down a target. which allows Momiji access to incredible speed. She can close the gap between herself and a foe quickly. This does not leave her invulnerable to attack, especially against better trained targets. If anything, it can make her more vulnerable depending on how Momiji uses it. She can quickly move through trees, however this move tends to be a beeline to her prey. It is not quite a version of celerity.
Rank B Ability: ‘Straight for the throat’- An instinctual strike to a weak point, regardless of what it is. Could be an old injury, like something that never healed correctly or a previously broken bone. The strike can be performed with hands, with a knife or naginata. Ignores all defenses and invulnerabilities, and immunities. It can disrupt spiritual energy such as that used by Yokai or magic users. This move is a straight line to the vulnerability of her target. (Think Celerity from Vampire the Masquerade.) It is something that could punch through spiritual protection or typical defenses like armor. It would act more as a disrupt in that the weakness could impact concentration for someone using magic or spiritual concentration.
Rank C Passive:: ’Garou”’: This allows Momiji to take on some of the characteristics of a wolf or black dog. Which could be considered fearsome. Looming presence (regardless of size), elongated canines and nails (which can be used as a weapon if she was unhinged enough), sharp intimidating gaze (more than usual) and in the extreme, cause the user to take on almost wolf-like features, notably the ears in some cases of emotion or instinctual duress. Momiji also gains the ability to track and hunt a target the way wolves do, through smell. She would have a similar range of tracking not quite up to 12 miles, but she would certainly be able to keep up with tracking a person or yokai that had a headstart. Getting an idea of the direction in which they went. If the target tries to reduce or camouflage the smell, it reduces the ability by half. Like in the case of tracking someone over a great distance or through water, which would dampen the smell. She can be very affected by scents, which is mentioned in weaknesses, often causing at the very least a headache or migraine. Gunpowder is definitely a smell she is not fond of.
