Ideas for Christmas and New Years' threads!

I have a few resources for  Japan's Winter Holiday Celebrations. These can be fuel for all kinds of threads, and it's a great rabit hole to go down for reading. I am sure everyone is familiar with one or two, like especially having KFC for Christmas, which doesn't seem like the biggest deal but it is actually pretty great!

Also, because Mass was fairly horrified, and I couldn't really believe it myself (because ENGRISH):
For Merry Christmas: It’s an imported event, so most people would say merī kurisumasu (メリークリスマス). If you wanted to be formal, you could also say kurisumasu omedetō gozaimasu (クリスマスおめでとうございます).



For Happy New Year: Most people would say akemashite omedetō gozaimasu (明けましておめでとうございます), literally “congratulations on the opening (of the new year).” The full phrase used in formal occasions is shinnen akemashite omedetō gozaimasu (新年明けましておめでとうございます).
