There were sounds of screams and people running. The sound of the 'don't walk' chime was being fully ignored by people trying to run away from a swarm of pot-bellied demons with clawed hands and feet. Their mouths were small and sharp. They seemed too small to take in mouthfuls of food yet, could inflict lacerations on the legs of those fleeing. An elderly man went down in one of the crossings, almost getting hit by a car. The car managed to barely stop, and was assailed by some of the demons slamming into the windshield. The elderly man reached out for help and tried to use the car bumper to get up, but the car's driver threw it into reverse, tires squealing. The man's arm hit the pavement with a wet thud, and upon looking, you realize that within minutes it's a disconnected arm with a watch and pieces of an orange sweater still attached. A few people had managed to make it across the street and were packing into shops panicking. Some of the shop keepers were pulling down metal shutters. Some had already locked down their stores, locking people out. It was pure pandemonium. The light of day was fading into a dusk, so night was falling. Both the flashing traffic lights and the lights of billboards and advertisements were lit. The ones closest to the street were already splattered with blood. Screams were carried on the wind. The sounds of sirens were getting closer in the distance but it would take a bit to get through the damage and frightened people. The Gaki seemed to appear literally out of nowhere. The call for hunters, Shinesngumi and emergency personnel were being called for over the Shinto Shrine Network.

It may take the authorities time to get here, but it would take a single person - like, say, a man in tip-top condition - a much shorter time, getting over all the obstacles and things that were in the way. He got into this area, and then one of the yokai looking for a snack would heard a cry, "No, no! Leave me alone! Help! Help!" from an alleyway. As soon as it went to investigate - because you know one of them would, if it meant there'd be a new victim on the playing field - a big icy shuriken would sweep out at its face! Here, a man would step out into view. He was in a normal shirt-jeans combination, holding a bastard sword of all things. He looked around at the area, seeing the damage done all over the place. "Right. Let's do this, then."He held up his sword with both hands, clenched tightly, and the cold energies from his hands would travel up to form a heavier blade of basically permafrost-levels of solid, taking on a more claymore-esque property in design. Max was a man who liked European blades to an extent, even though he was raised in this country. Somehow, double-sided blades just appealed to him more. Any gaki about that tried to attack him now would probably get smacked into next week, if not chopped in half, but let's see exactly what they are doing, right now.

Not just one, but several came, hungry and looking for a snack, which they got in the form of a Max-attack! They were many but not smart! That was for sure! As the air around them became cold with his power, the naked, crawling beasts shivered, some of them, the ones less preoccupied, for they were on the outskirts of downed prey, turned to fight him. A little girl stood on top of a van. How she got up there was anyone's' guess. "No! Mister don't come here! They got my daddy and they will get you too!" She couldn't have been more than six years old, dressed in a kindergarten uniform. Her father had likely put her up high to keep her safe. She had tears in her eyes. She pointed at her father who was running still from them, unable to get back to her. "Please Mister, somebody help him!" She couldn't help it. One minute the little girl had begged him to stay away, the next minute she was asking for his help. Maybe she had seen him kill a few. But the Gaki seemed to be everywhere. One was trying to drag an old man's arm down the street and managed to get pounced on by other Gaki. These things by themselves were horrible but you could protect yourself, but more than a handful was dangerous. Where had the plague of them come from? Had he ever seen so many?

Once the first one had been shuriken'd, the next ones would indeed feel his cold wrath as the ice claymore came down on one, swept around to clear an immediate perimeter of others close by, and struck at the immediate creature to eliminate them as his quick footwork slid and sidestepped out of the way of their attempts to partake of his flesh. Max noted the child's frantic shouting of concern, but he wasn't going to run. As the kid realized that he was going to survive more than three seconds, his hopes were raised enough to call for the hunter to go and help his dad. The tone-shift didn't bother Max at all, really. He was a kid, and he was scared. The Honchu Night Parade was taking an extra vicious toll this night. As soon as he spotted the fleeing figure, he spoke to the child.
"I'm getting you both out of here."
The kid was safe-ish for the present moment, but he wasn't going to trust a random van for longterm refuge. Resting the heavy blade on his shoulder now, Max full-tilt ran to catch up with the gaki pursuing the man...and then he cheated a little. Well, it wasn't cheating if it was something he'd been born with. Also, this wasn't game, and he wasn't playing around. With his free hand, he aimed carefully, and then project a wide blast that would engulf most of the gaki entirely, and just the lower half of the lead one, so it wouldn't affect the man at all. A layer of ice on their bodies would slow them down, the ground would become slippery, and the one gaki in front woulf at least get his lower half iced up enough to make him trip. It would be enough for Max, who'd leap past the other gaki to bring down the ice claymore with two hands before facing the others.
"Hey! Stay near me! I'm getting you and your kid in one of those stores, and then I'm getting to the bottom of this!"
With this particular group of yokai under the icy influence, they would pose less of a challenge for his blade, but he knew there were plenty more, and for now he had to try and force the momentary numbness out of his hand. Making his bastard sword into a claymore was nothing, but that projection messed with his circulation a little. It was only a quick burst, so he'd be alright for now, at least. Had to get the bystanders out of this and pull the plug on whatever was going on...

He was freezing and breaking a lot of the Gaki left and right. The worst of it was the steady, almost endless tide of them. They poured to and fro into the street. He would freeze a section of them, and a few more would crop up, but it was enough to make a dent in them and rush through. The man that Max caught up to breathed a sigh of relief, enough to momentarily catch his breath as they were beat down with Max's ice attack. The Gaki were frozen to the waist and the man pulled away from what still reached for him. The nasty creatures were not above gnawing off their own parts to get to people. The creatures that still were alive that is.
"Thank god for you mister!" He heard Max's shout and picked up what looked like a broken metal sign piece from the ground. "Yeah! Ok!" He did not say too much more, trying to follow Max and what he was doing. The man was ready to help Max if he could, but stayed close and out of the way. He was middle aged and had shaggy black hair, an anime t-shirt (now a little ripped and smeared) and beat up sneakers. It looked like he had been picking up the little girl from kindergarten from the looks of it.
A siren blared over the PA system in the shopping area. It was a warning system that let bystanders know to stay indoors. Those who had made it indoors, or hadn't left wouldn't be coming out for a while. Some shops had an automated system that came down in the event of an emergency, but not many of them. There was a man on the second floor of a combini. "Hey!! If you guys can get here, I will let you in!" He waited for some acknowledgement. At least they might have a place to go when they grabbed the girl. Speaking of which, she was definitely somewhat traumatized and squatting down on the van's roof, crying in a loud howl.
Many people had either cleared the street already, or were in the process of being eaten. A young woman with a baseball bat and green track jacket was fending a few off with a bat and trying to make her way towards the little girl. "OI!! GET AWAY YOU CLOWNS!" She had short hair that was a bit fluffy and a tough expression. One of the Gaki had it's head caved in. She did her best to hit her way through the crowd to them.
"Aki! Daddy is coming! Stay up there! We will come to you!"
He seemed hopeful but so worried the color had drained from his face. The owner of the combini waited for them downstairs now, on once side of the glass. All but the door had metal shutters that had come down. Some of the Gaki were slamming against the metal, not realizing that there was the glass door, so he was trying to be as quiet as he could be.

Good. Not only did the man listen right the hell up, but he took a makeshift weapon to protect himself. Wise course, and although it wasn't much against horde of these things, it was better than nothing. He had guts and enough mental focus not to panic in a situation that rightly caused panic. As they made their way back towards the van, Max was doing best to aggro here and make wide sweeps to either knock any gaki away or on their ass if they wouldn't simply sliced open or in half by his attacks. The father of the little girl would watch his back and keep him apprised of any serious developments, probably bashing the head in of any gaki close by that survived a hit from Max.
While this was going on, the situation became better and worse at the same time. Here are the pros and cons... It was definitely a good thing that the automated security system was shuttering down places for everyone's self protection. Unfortunately, that also meant that getting any people out here off of the streets was gonna be harder. There was also a woman with a baseball bat coming out to help, and that was definitely going to make it somewhat easier, but it also meant that he had to make sure she was safe, as well. To make her life easier, Max shot another freeze blast to coat a number of gaki in her path in ice, this time not hitting the ground, so she could bash through them easier and gain ground as they also got to the ground. When the second-floor man made his offer, Max looked his way shot a cloud of frost into the air in the shape of a thumb's up. From there, he looked at the man and the woman.
"Alright, here's the plan: We're going for that guy's place. Greatest dad, you hold onto your kid, stay behind me. Bat-lady, you're on our six, keeping it clear. If it gets more serious back there, we switch places and you clear the path. If it gets bad on both sides, I have a way through, but it'll cost me, so last resort. Okay? Let's go!"
He basically proposed a decent and adaptive situation to handle their movement to that door. The act that would cost him, though? If they started getting seriously overwhelming numbers, Max would create a narrow tunnel of ice with only one exit - their destination. It'd be about foolproof then, but it would also do a number on his hands, so hopefully once inside, he could warm them up again. For now, though, the plan was the plan.

The two people he picked up were scared, but they had convictions of steel. They listened to what he was saying, the dad in particular. With Max's help, they could get out of this! Him and his daughter. He was taken by surprise by the girl with the bat. He and his little girl had seen her earlier with a group of delinquent girls near they batting cages. They looked pretty tough and he hurried his girl past as to not cause any trouble, and here was one of the very same girls helping him out. They got into rank and file behind Max, once they got the little girl; of course. She had jumped off of the van she was on top of and into her father's arms. "Gee Mister! You are chilly!" She buried herself into her father's light hoodie, more out of not wanting to see the Gaki then the cold. "Are you going to be okay?" The father asked Max. Whatever happened, they needed to keep moving, the ice tunnel would be a straight shot to the combini store door. The man holding the door wanted to yell to them, he knew better. He just got himself ready to close the door after them. Gaki started launching themselves at the ice tunnel. They would bounce and slide off. As they got closer, the tunnel started to crack in the back. The girl bringing up the rear was startled by the thumps. She let out a little scream here and there but kept going. "Hurry! We have to get to the door! They are cracking the backside of the tunnel.

Alot of the creatures swarmed them already, so he had to bring up the ice tunnel idea, anyway. Not a bad move, over all. The comparatively-weak gaki slapped themselves up against it and slid down like cartoon characters hitting a wall. So, that much got them going, though Max felt a chill run through him, as a result. It was a fairly-large creation to accommodate them all, and as he was indeed putting off a cold aura, he was getting a little shakey. When the child asked if he was going to be alright, he said "I-I will. Just need a minute..." as they moved along. Specifically, he was gwetting active and forcing a little adrenaline into his system. Normally, an immediate fight would mitigate this, but they were just going through a passageway. He didn't feel the cold of IT, but his body essentially used some of his strength and ability to keep warm to produce alot of cold. Conservation of energy and all that. Even covers magic. When someone shouted that the closed end of his tunnel was getting broken into, this was his moment.
"Shift positions! I'll guard the rear!"
Since they knew the plan already, bat-lady would switch with him, so that she was in the lead and he was in back. They would hurry on ahead, while Max intentionally ran back and stabbed the first gaki to put a hand through the hole they made. One of them dropping dead as he pulled the sword back through the hole would give them a bit of pause. When the others reached the combini, he was getting in there himself, so the store owner could lock the door and the rest of them go to an even-more-secure area, while Max frosted said glass with his breath - just a minor feat - and drew the kanji for 'DEATH' on the glass with a smile. That'd mess with them, make the gaki reconsider even trying to charge it. He needed to make sure these people were safe, though, before setting out again.

The girl with the bat decided to move forward to help him a little instead. He looked like he was going to move a lot slower without help. "It's okay! I got ya boss!" She had him lean on her a little and kept him moving. The man and his little girl with with him, and the creatures were coming behind, albeit, slowed down significantly. It freaked a few of them out when he drew the death kanji. In fact, some people hotly debated if they were intelligent enough to know stuff like that, but some of them were. Only the really aggravated ones were still trying to get at them and they were slowed down. They could make it, just a little bit! The oni that was trying to crack the glass near the store owner had gotten metal accordion style bars instead. It screeched as it's teeth cracked on metal bars. The shopkeeper hit the oni with the door pretty hard and sent it backward. "Where did all these freaking things come from anyway?" The shop keep came a little out of the shop to help them inside and slammed the door and it's metal security behind them. "Man- that was crazy. You guys are okay right?" He looked a lot younger than he initially looked from afar. No, he was a lot younger. He was scruffy and had some facial hair though. Now that they were close up though, he looked like he was in his twenties and had a shop smock. There were sounds of gaki thumping against the metal cages and glass. The store was completely deserted except for the younger man. "I think there is still a first aid kit in the bathroom. Let me grab it." He hurried towards the bathroom in the back. "My family is away, it's just me really. man am I glad you guys made it." He looked like he had been worried and routing for them the entire time. He came back in a few minutes with a first aid kit and a few drinks, he could tell they were pretty beat. They were almost cold enough to have ice chunks in them. "Hang in there mister." The little girl looked a bit concerned herself and tried to lay a hand on Max's shoulder. Her dad put her down carefully and sat near the door, keeping an eye out.

The girl had basically caught Max in the middle of rapid breathing to deliberately up the blood pressure. Inducing this or getting the blood flowing artificially to warm the body was key. If he was desperate enough, he'd even touch something hot to get the sudden adrenaline surge trying to cut the pain off at the pass. Nevermind that, though. While Max was durable and capable, the girl with the bat showed some impressive loyalty by going back for him. She didn't need to, but her actions showed good character, and he was gonna remember that. Once they'd gotten inside and Max pulled his trick on the glass - which DID delay them bit, so thank god for superstition - the store guy got the bars in place as he asked out-loud where the hell these gaki came from.
"That's precisely the sort of question I was going to ask, in a moment."
Looking around, it seemed like things were safe enough for those inside, and anybody else left outside was now decidedly dead. Max confirmed with the shopkeep that everyone seemed to be alright. The child, greatest dad, bat-lady, and himself. All good. The young man here seemed like a junior employee, as his family was out of town, but he was running things well here, clearly, as he went for some first aid and also brought back some drinks. One was thrust in Max's hand, and he accepted it graceously. Stimulants help, so caffiene would get him back in order, soon enough, as the child looked concerned over him.
"I'm fine, I just... Well, my abilities give me cold powers, and I'm immune to the cold, but I'm not immune to the heat leaving my body when I make things cold. So, when I do a big one, like that tunnel? I get the chills, and I need to do something to keep my body going. It helps if I'm active, but everyone has their limits. Hopefully, I won't hit mine before I figure out what's going on."
He then turned to the girl with the bat, giving off a smirk as he put his sword on his shoulder the way a batter would.
"You didn't have to go out there, but you did, just the same. Admirable qualities. I think you might do well at the dojo, once we're out of this."
If this was how she was when the need arose, then she was a person of good character, and trustworthy of some work on her technique. With that matter addressed, he looked over the four assembled here, looking rather serious.
"Okay, this is the situation: I'm with the Hunters Guild, and I need to find out how this got started and what I can do end it and fast. I know you don't have all the answers, but you may have some of them and not even know it. These gaki suddenly started attacking, and I was the first one here. Can anybody tell me what, if anything, unusual may've been happening before the gaki appeared? Was there a particular noise? Any strange lights or strong smells? And most importantly, did they come from one direction like a wave, or just start popping in from any old place? Other Hunters and such will be in, but with a horde out there, they will take time, while I have to try and find the center of this and put a stop to it."

"Well they do smell!" The little girl had been set on the counter by Best Dad. "They usually do. I heard a pop like the lid was blown off of something. But I didn't see anything. By then, they were everywhere, rushing up the street. I managed to put Ada on the roof of that van for a bit and run, but I didn't see much, I am sorry." He shook his head and started cleaning up a knee scrape. The sound of a siren was going off. It was the public alert system, specifically something to handle yokai hazards.
The girl with the bat leaned it against a chip display. Her baggy socks had bunched and been shredded. She waited for the siren to pass before speaking. "No. I didn't, but you were helping us. Everyone else out there was every man for themselves. Even some of my friends. So much for being tough!" She was actually kind of miffed about that. For a bunch of street kids, they ran like babies. "I saw them blow open a manhole near the batting cages, we were walking back from that actually." This was why she had the bat really in the first place.
"My ability is kinda stupid anyway. It's a type of preemptive strike." She let out a sigh. "Our ancestor was some fancy samurai guy." It must have been useful enough to serve in a duel. "Hey you said heat loss? Yo! Can we get this guy a blanket or something?" She motions at the guy running the store. He looked flustered. "Yeah! I got you! Just be a second!" He ran up the stairs and went to get one. Best dad, patched his daughter up and set her back down, where she went to the magazines. "I will make you a cup of coffee, it's on me."
He went over to the coffee bar and started making one, which he could pay with either his change or a card. "Should help a bit. My name is Takashi Moroboshi by the way." He made a medium coffee and brought it over. A little bit of steam and strong coffee smell rose from the paper cup. He crouched down to hand it over. By then the time the combini guy came back with a fuzzy, fleece blanket they were getting introductions under way. "I miss something?" His name tag read 'Hi! I'm Daiske! Ask me about our one yen coffee!'

Information was trickling in, and Max could see how this rampage was going on. Actually, the bad smell declaration turned out to be on point when he put it all together. The man said that he heard a popping sound, like a lid being ejected with force. Then, the girl stated that she had actually seen them pop a manhole cover and begin climbing out when she and her friends were out at the batting cages. By these tidbits combined, Max could see now how they came in all over the place, suddenly. He nodded to himself over that as the batter stated that she had a samurai ancestor and apparently gained some sort of pre-emptive skill when she awakened to some abilities. Max smiled and said "Don't write that power off, just yet. If it helps you get through this, it'll be well worth it." by way of encouragement. He was pretty sure that she had good potential, and that he should help her find it. She would realize that he might still be feeling cold and got the store worker to go and get a blanket while she went to make him a cup of coffee.
A quick-thinker and actor, takes charge in a situation, has a samurai ancestor AND a combat-related power. I wonder...
A rebellious pink-haired young lady with guts and honor could just be a decent person underneath the delinquint attitude, but there could equally be more to it than that. Really, Max just figured her to be a possible applicant to the dojo, but the more he learned, the deeper the rabbit hole goes. Of course, if it was nothing, then no harm, but if he was right, this could be rather interesting. Soon, he was handed a cup of coffee as the dad introduced himself.
"And if I heard right, this is your daughter, Aki. I'm Fuyunaito Max. My mother just liked the name, Max, for a child, though she never confirmed if it was Maximillian, Maximus, Maxwell... Hard to say."
He was just getting conversational as he waited for all people to be in the same room again, which happened as Daiske the store operator came back to cloak him in said blanket. Max waited for his coffee to be not searing hot, a perfectly understandable thing even for a normal person, let alone him. Daiske asked if he missed something, and Max just shrugged.
"We were just doing a bit of introductions, since people have been very helpful today, especially in concluding that the gaki slipped into the area via the sewers and all popped out at once in some mass effort. The popping sound and seeing them come out said that much. The smell could've been the smell of the sewers on them, so that's relevent. Incidentally, if there's any pipes large enough for them to squeeze into that might get them inside a building, I'd be concerned about that. If not, then we're fine. Well..."
He took a quick swing of his coffee, hoping it'd cooled down enough, then continued.
"...you're all fine. I have to either go down into that mess and find a way to flush them out literally, see if there's something that'll call dozens of gaki back from wherever they came from, OR see if some sewage treatmant place has like a boss keeping them going in the background that's a lynchpin to all this if he's gone. Incidentally, is there a sewage building they could've started this from?"

"It's helped, but it has gotten me into trouble too." She looked about as pink as her hair really. Her 'friends' had mostly been responsible for that one, but she couldn't say she was blameless. Considering they locked her out and hid though, she needed new friends. She nodded though, and propped herself against the wall to decompress a little while everyone spoke.
"Max huh? I used to watch a lot of Macross back when, and the main guy had a friend named Max. I think it be good to know what kind of Max, but I think Max is a good name. I named Aki a shortened name as well, I just liked the sound." He didn't mention Aki's mom, to which there was a reason. Aki kicked her legs back and forth sitting up on the counter. "I hope you feel better Oji-san, you look really cold!" Aki was fairly blunt and likely seven.
Daiske listened and shivered. "You are gonna go back out there? At least maybe call someone or get some help. There's all kinds of weird stuff in the sewers!" He was wide-eyed and looked liked that was the craziest thing he had ever heard. "If you could bottleneck them, you might be able to get through some of them, but after a bit, you might be a bit under the weather again." The pink haired girl frowned. "I heard one of the teachers or our school nurse say there was a limit to using magic or abilities, and if you passed that threshold, you could loose consciousness! That would be really dumb down there with all those hungry fuckers!" The look she gave screamed 'baka'.
"That is true. There would be no telling how many or what exactly, or where." Moroboshi paced a little. "Could you maybe call for some help? It would be like walking into a deathtrap!"
There probably were people he could call, and it might give him a bit to recharge himself. But he would have to wait to do this. It seemed like something a handful of hunters could handle. But it was up to Max. "Tsch, you call someone, I will come as well." The girl took up her bat again. "But I might need to make a few things. Is that okay with you, Daiske?"

The pink-haired girl admitted to some trouble in her life over her abilities, and - Max noticed - did not introduce herself still. This only solidified his thoughts about the girl's identity, and that she did not like to broadcast the fact that she might be important. Either that, or it was embarrassing to talk about Max wouldn't call her out on this, of course. Well...maybe more in private. He was curious, after all, but instead focused on Moroboshi and Aki, where the former was focused on anime and made reference to Ichijyo Hikaru's best friend that shared his name. Laughing at this, Max had to comment.
"I'm sure my mother never intended that, although she did apparently do some voicing herself under an assumed name."
Specifically, Saiga boldly claimed to be Sakamoto Maaya, the Japanese VA of numerous anime, or at least the real actor behind Ryouji Shiki from Kara No Kyouki. That was neither here nor there, though, and Max would assure Aki at this point that he was starting to feel better. They had, after all, helped him recover after being very clear that the big power would take a fair bit out of him, creating that tunnel. Everything after that was with concern or outright argument over what he should do or if he should personally do anything. He could understand their worry. After all, he was putting his life on the line to deal with some untold dozens of gaki loose on the streets and/or in the sewers. With this, he held up his hands to get them to quiet down.
"Hold it, hold it! I'm aware that it's a bit much for one guy, alright? But I also know that if I don't at least occupy their time or find a cause for all this that I can't put a stop to, they'll start going places and eating people up. So, I'm going to fight smart."
He'd asked questions to determine feasibility, knowing that he needed a plan to deal with this. Just stepping out there again was foolish, at best, as even if he limited himself to killing with skill and speed without power, there could just be too many. Max appreciated the pink-haired bat-girl's continued assistance, but even if she was willing to take a risk, he had to be willing to take the brunt of that risk, as it wasn't her job to. If he let her get injured, that would be his fault, his responsibility, and the consequences would fall to him. Now, pulling out his phone, he turned to Daiske for a moment.
"Since we're on the subject of preparing, I'm thinking of fishing from the roof. If you have any cooked meat and like a bag or a net and some rope or something, that'll be bait to lure a bunch of them to the kill."
He didn't have to expend vast amounts of power to kill. He just had to play on their endless hunger and lesser intelligence to get them to fly screaming towards their deaths. He didn't know what the girl was preparing, but if she joined him on the roof, that'd be relatively safe - or safer - and they could go fishing together. Max then speed-dialed the Yokai Hunters home office, getting a look outside to gauge the situation as he spoke.
"Dispatch? Fuyunaito speaking. I'm at Hachiko Square, currently hold up in a store. I've managed to get people to safety and kill some of the gaki, but there's alot here. Planning some hunter tactics to keep them occupied and get some more in the process. Listen, it seems like they came out of the sewers, so if they go to ground that's where they might run to. Dunno if you know where they came from originally, but if you wanna cut that off as an escape route and keep a strong perimeter to contain them, that's a good bet. Otherwise, I'm looking for any ways to end these things before they find their way to some other location."
He was essentially moving as he was talking, taking up anything Daiske could hand to him so he could get to work on his attack plan and not get left behind by the bat-girl.

"I am still goin'. And if we can set traps, or use more things to keep you from using too much energy, that would be really good. Though.. who knows where they are exactly under the street." She frowned, holding onto her bat. It was clearly property of the batting cages she had come from, but it didn't matter now, not really. If they did make it, she would take it back. Aki loved that place, though, she probably needed to find a new hangout spot too. Atsuko's brow furrowed, "Do Gaki taste things?"
Daiske was frantically handing him anything meat. They had some fried kurage chicken, some lunch meat, even sushi and such. Anything from the keep warm and cold cases he could find. "Not really. I think they don't care as long as it's meat or some kind of food I think." He had a little cart and was almost full of some things. "I think I have a few raw things in my fridge upstairs. You think this might handle it?" He wanted them to survive this. Honestly, he remembered Atsuko from school, though he was a little older. She probably didn't remember him though, he was quiet and had been shy for a senior, and she hung out with a different crowd. "Well, she said, depending on how Max's fishing goes, maybe some of the meat could have sleeping drugs in them. Maybe we could distract them or put the out." She was chewing on her lip a little as she said this.
"Maybe. I do have fishing stuff in here.Hey, Atsuko if you look down isle four it should be next to some of the car and bike stuff. It's by the magazines. I will help after I grab the meat," He pointed her in the direction while he was still gathering meat. "What do you think? Would it work?" She looked at him quizzically, wondering how he knew her first name and scrapped it.

"Oh Shoot." He hushed himself so Max could talk to Hunter Dispatch. "Nishimura-san here.." He listened on the other line. "Yeah, it's blowin' up all over the news." You could hear the cigarette hanging from his lip. "We aren't sure where they came from yet. Shinsengumi and some guys from public works are in the sewers and it is, quite literally a shit show." That deep tired exhale. "You still got service? Some of our best and brightest are down there thinning 'em out, but they haven't found a spawn nest yet. You could use the a map of the old line to about trace where the waterways go. My guess would be a bunch of 'em nesting in a sewage drain, cloggin it up." He gave a rusty kind of laugh.
"Ain't nothin' those creeps like more than meat, 'cept maybe their own shit."
Daiske was scurrying along in the background of this call gathering what he could up and down the isles, with Aki's help. "What's your ID? I can log you in as hunting the area so you might get what the city throws at us after all this."
