If that was the only thing he had to contend growing up, he might have not rebelled as much. Physically he's still quite thin, most of his weight coming from his lean muscles formed from a lifetime of sports and physical activity. His mixed ancestry causing him much grief growing up, his natural skin color dancing in those light shades of brown. He has a couple of scars around his body courtesy of his past and the sports he practiced; memories etched into his skin never to be forgotten. Ever since his unintended pact his once brown hair has turned white, its length reaching past his shoulders and resting around his upper back. A constant personal reminder that a fight well fought brings rewards. Outside class, he's not picky, but he plays around with the different things, comfortable being his to go. His trusty boots, surplus military pants, a t-shirt and some colorful tracksuit jackets are the kind of mismatch loud things he will default to. Even in situations where he needs to have a semblance of a uniform, he keeps his grandfather's dogtags. Although no tattoos, his ears are pierced, he known to wear a few different things, but golden cuffed earrings are his default.
Belongings: Where many some carry weapons, and all sort of tools, the common sight on Wataru is a large messenger bag, inside this bag he keeps all sort of snacks and entertainment, from jerky to trail mix. A couple of water bottles and a small first aid kit, with bandages. A number of books are also kept in the bag, usually kid versions of many Yokai legends and a handful of parenting books. Just don't call it a baby bag as it's a quick way to have him punch you in the nose.

Raitaro
----------
[Eyes] Amber[Hair] Ash Black
[Skin] Peach
[Height] 3 ft.
[Weight] 30 lbs.
[Built] Thin
Raitaro grew up very quickly, and in a passing glance he could pass for a human kid. At three feet tall, he's a little on the short side, for his age relative to humans, and he's quite light at thirty pounds, but he's not human. Raitaro is a Yokai, meaning two big things, one his physiology is unlike humans, and two his current existence is linked to a type of contract between him and Wataro. Although Yokai come in different shapes and sizes Raitaro's appearance is partially influenced by his contractor.
He has ashy black hair, the lifeless kind that doesn't seem to have any volume or shine to it unless you torture yourself whit creams and other lotions, and since the little guy doesn't care, the black mass just falls all over the place in a very messy fashion, that is till something gets under his skin and his power ripples through his body causing the static generated by him to cause his hair to spike up. Underneath the mass of hair are two small horns which to his luck are usually hidden under all of it, though when it spikes up the energy flowing through them seem to cause the hair around them to part.
Wataru tries to keep Retsu's hair relatively short, since it makes it easier to untangle when it does get tangled meaning that it rarely covers the boy face though there times where it manages to cover part of his ears, which are somewhat elongated and pointed by human standards. Retsu's brows aren't exactly bushy, but there not overly thin, there dark color giving a natural contrast to his amber eyes.
Like many humans his age he still what would many call a baby face, whit puffy cheeks courtesy of the traces of baby fat that still linger on his body, the rest of his face is adorned whit small features, like his small nose and sly thin lips. Raitaro has peach colored skin, and his build is quite lithe.
He's ambidextrous, and though Wataru has tried to keep them in check his fingers end in small claws. To wrap his appearance up, his legs look and are normal for the most part, but much like his hands his toes end in claws.
Clothing wise Raitaro will wear whatever Wataru provides him, personally less is more in his book, but he does his best not to antagonize his father figure, simple shoes, cover his feet usually Velcro as the art of chasing the bunny with is shoe strings still eludes him. Its not uncommon for him to have shorts but due to his small size they seem to run big on him, same with shirts, though Wataru will often look for long sleeves to make hiding his clawed hands and though his hair does a good job at keeping his small horns out of sight, hats, beanies, hoods and other coverings are common.
Wataru Ishinomori history has taken a few turns throughout his life. He's certain the authorities have a file under his name from his more rebellious youth. Having been put in a misguided path as young as eleven when he ran away from the stresses of responsibility and societal expectations. Before that he worked hard, he studied hard, he tried to be the perfect child, he fallowed every rule unflinchingly, he pushed his body in sports, he attempted to excel in all, not because he though himself better, but because, for a long time he was led to believe he was less. His mix heritage instantly signaling him out among his peers.
It was not till he met Takumi Handa that he felt a true sense of camaraderie. Takumi made Wataru feel accepted, not because he needed him, but because they were friends, it was this hunger that Takumi took advantage off. At first it was small things, like pranks. Takumi would tell him, most of these store owners don't get a good laugh, turning the young Wataru into a distraction, but it didn't take long for things to escalate. Takumi took Wataru in, showed him to the rest of his 'Lost' boys.
It did not take long for Wataru to realize that Takumi was not fully caring for him, but it was hard to get out, his options were to return home where he would be crushed under the weight of the world, plus he knew his family would be livid after he ran away, or stay with Takumi, a man who feed him, kept him off the street, allowed him to do whatever he wanted as long as he did a few 'favors' from time to time.
He pushed him to do all sorts of petty crime, in particular Wataru got good at moving things around town, his fear of being caught, taught him when to blend with the crowd and how to move through town. Once or twice Wataru pushed back, only to find himself at the end of physical punishment. Being reminded that he could be living in the streets, or worse.
One night Wataru tried to push back only to be beat up and tossed out, Takumi intended in letting him back in the next day or so, once hunger settled on the boy and he learned his lesson. Wataru attempted to leave that world behind, getting on a train he traveled endlessly, he was looking to avoid the cold night, when was woken by station security, he had aimlessly made his way to Kyoto.
Ending at his grandfather's door he shamefully reached out, expecting to be punished, his grandfather was strict, rules, curfews, and a watchful eye that made it hard for Wataru to do anything that had not been agreed upon beforehand.
His grandfather worked on his grandson with clockwork precision, his old-fashioned ways rubbed Wataru wrong, but he realizes that his grandfather, got him back on track in school, and was able to get any punishment pending for his crimes under Takumi to vanish.
His parents were upset, but they reconnected and did everything in their powers to be there for him. Though their busy schedules they knew that it would be better for me to stay with my grandfather. Although he did not fully brake and tame me as he intended, he was able to impart wisdom, as the years went on, I regained some of my liberty, which I instantly squandered by venting my anger in fights.
It did not take long for his grandfather to send him to a private school, maybe stricter supervision would have me fully adapt. Wataru found himself struggling often trying to escape the school and finding himself in fights. Yet his grandfather never gave up on him.
It was at the age of fifteen that things started to change, Wataru found a semblance of peace, it was at this age when some magical aptitude was starting to show, his grandfather had been a powerful binder, using his skills to seal Yokai.
Wataru started to help around his grandfather's bookstore, sometimes delivering special orders, other times cleaning the shop or manning the small kitchen. One late night he closed the bookstore alone. On his ride back he encountered a woman in distress, this woman claimed to being chase and only wished for her baby to be safe, Wataru wanted to help but she insisted, that she would meet him once she managed to throw off the pursuit.
He rode hard and fast, by the time he was far enough to feel safe to slow down he was almost at his grandfathers, looking at the bundle in his arms he was half surprised it had not turned into a rock or a statue. In his arms was Raitaro, he did not know this at the time, but he inadvertently bonded with the Yokai, much like grandfathers powerful binding skills allowing him to seal Yokai to objects, Wataru wish to protect this baby manifested in a powerful bond.
His grandfather helped, but he made it clear that Raitaro was his responsibility, and that he had already failed once by allowing Wataru's father to abdicate his responsibilities he would not allow his grandson to do the same. If his grandfather's stern words were not enough, the threat of death hanged over his head, if the child ever became unruly the authorities would put him down.
[Family, Friends Etc]
- Takumi Handa [26]: An old acquaintance of Wataru, he still calls Wataru friend, even though Wataru does not see him that way anymore. Although his group has gotten smaller, he and his 'Lost Boys' still cause mischief, recently having gotten some deals with the local Yakuza. He has big dreams of running the streets and will play any angle he can.
- Osamu Ishinomori [76]: Watarus grandfather, although the years have finally caught up to the old man slowing him down, he still maintains a strict almost drill sergeant demeanor. Things dont slip past him easily, currently he lives in Kyoto running a small occult bookstore, at some point in his life he was a well respected man his powerful binding abilities had assisted in the end of conflics with minimal bloodshed.
- Makoto Ishinomori [44]: Watarus father he wanted to do nothing with the shadow wars his father fought, or military life, he fashioned himself an artist and traveled the world as a freelance photographer, he didn't intent to find love, much less have a child, he was not ready to chain himself down, he tried, but it clearly didn't work, so when his father took the reins he abdicate responsibility and returned to his wandering ways.
- Dina [40]: Wataru knows little about his mother, he knows she's a well-regarded doctor, but the field, he knows that she's driven and well regarded, he's heard stories of his father describing her as a goddess with copper skin, never officially married she sends some money his way, but has kept little to no contact with Wataru it probably would hurt more if knew more about her, but he was an accident of a tryst between her and Makoto.
[Powers]
Power Theme: Contractor with a Storm Yokai. Raitaro is still learning his abilities, most of what he's able to do must come from within, small sparks and sounds are in his realm, though he has not figured out water.
Rank C Ability: Jiki-Jiki Come: Raitaro is able to create a magnetic field around him, the field does not expand more than three meters from him. By changing the polarity in his body he's able to magnetically attract an object of choice; by creating this link he can exert a fair amount of force to the chosen object. The force is enough to have an unaware adult loose balance and fall if they try to keep hold. Any object over ten pounds is too heavy for him to influence, their mass too great for him to create the magnetic bond require for him to tug.
Rank B Ability: Taiko-Taiko Song of Storms: Putting his middle and index together energy coalesces on the tip of his fingers allowing Raitaro to drum the air, each impact of the invisible drum causes sparks to bounce of the surface of the imaginary drum. The Sky's responds to his song causing thunder to rumble in the clouds in the rhythm of the beat. If he's able to finish his song which usually takes him a few minutes, the sky's grow dark as a powerful storm, affects the local area, beyond that its up to nature on how things continue as the dark clouds pour rain.
Rank C Passive: Tenki no Ko "Child of Weather": The contract linking the young Yokai with Wataro has created a bond between them that runs deep as blood, linking each other through body and soul. There connected so deeply that if one where to suffer pain the other would receive minor reflections of said pain, and if one where to receive grave injuries, they would slowly manifest on the other at a leaser intensity. Reckless abandon is a surefire way for them both to die and though Raitaro is capable of acting away from Wataro, the further away he is from him the weaker he becomes, till he's no stronger than a human child. Within thirty feet from Wararo, Raitaro is as his strongest, his power waning substantially every ten feet beyond, by the time he's fifty feet away he's at his weakest. Any attempt to tap into any of his power at his weakest, drain him greatly and in most cases would almost certainly instantly incapacitate Raitaro as any energy reserves keeping him going would be drained.
