Prince of the Seventh Isle, High Lord of the Order of Ravens, Son of Agmar The Savage. Yulian, the Dark Prince, his linage is undeniable, his feats are the makings of modern legends. Yet with all of his wealth and power, the fact that his blood is impure, has keep him from gaining the throne his so rightly deserves.
The "Prince" stands at six feet tall his visage is that of a warrior, his skintight against his muscles, even the slightest movement shows the great power that he possesses. His arms powerful tools, trained in the art of wielding multiple weapons, from the sword to the bow, yet favoring the dagger, close, personal, deadly. A weapon that gives him the pleasure of seeing the life drain out of his opponents' eyes, while giving his opponent a close and personal look at his platinum eyes, steely orbs filled with determination.
His hair silky mass of raven, his long locks passing his shoulders and resting midway to his back, from his head protrudes his horns a striking eighteen inches, though it's bends make it seem less, but one never truly wants to get up close and personal with them... His ears are elongated in a almost elfish manner. Though comparing him to an elf is like comparing a lizard to a dragon, it's not something you do and if you do it's not something you get to do twice.
His facial structure is not a construction of jagged and harsh lines, but soft, don't you confuse this with a gentle demeanor, after all no one calls poison ivy ugly... Till they get poisoned. Behind the sly lips that have delivered harsh orders, just as swiftly as his knife has pierced skin, is the maw of a hunter, though a little spell crafting has allowed him more than once to hide those sharp teeth into something more approachable.
What else can we say of his sculpted body, his ashen skin tone hides scars well, yet they are there, the mark of his training, the mark of combat, of victories and defeats, his arms strong defined, his fingers nibble, trained to craft runes and whip out spells, just as efficiently as they wield a knife. True he lacks the natural build and imposing figure of a Oni, but one knows a cobra when one see it, steely muscles ready to strike.
As skilled as he is in combat he's quite an efficient spell caster. He is very proud of his heritage, but he knows how unwieldy a tail can be, or a pair of wings, sure he can appear as human as the next guy, yet he keeps his horns, to remind the world that he's not another human, when he pleases a long sinewy powerful tail extends from the base of his spine, strong enough to lift people and brake bones, gentle enough to draw complex runes with the mass of silken gray hair at the end. He's no monkey any indication that you believe to be such, he will correct the way he corrects many things.
Just as he's capable of bending his body to hide his claws, and sharp teeth, his tail and other non human traits, he hides his greatest gift, his greatest curse, his wings, at eight feet of wingspan don't expect these leathery appendages to demonstrate any beauty, they are pure power, large, imposing, with jagged bones and taught leathery skin, that would cause many to believe that in no way they would be capable of providing the power of flight, they do that and more. It's rare for the High Lord of the Order of Ravens to show his true form, but when he does, may the gods pity your soul...
Belongings: weapons, armor, gadgets, and other things your character generally has handy in most situations. Can also include things they may own, like vehicles. Pets should be included as an NPC even if it isn’t human level intelligence.. If it is something akin to batman gadgets it should be listed among your character strengths. If we are looking at something akin to a divine sword or ancient artifact, it should be listed in your power theme if that is what your powers stem from or as a passive power. I would bundle this in the same area as powers. Also what are the limitations? Personally I feel certain weapons should be considered ‘Powers’. Any limitation on what they can have? Personally, 1 weapon is fine, but anything beyond needs tempering, it's easy for a person to carry a dozen stuff on them. I understand that there’s Yokai and stuff, but I don't see a reason people should be armed to the teeth, that's what the Shinsengumi and other orgs are for.
(could inventory be separated from belongings, items you own, and personal inventory, the carry on goods? if that be much, maybe advice to narrow down more prominent items? Car, weapon, pets?)
Personality: How does your character tend to think and act, what are their ideals? Their taboos? Who are they and who do they want to be? Please write at least one paragraph.
Character Strengths: What is your character notably good at, including at least 3. These are things that your character is notably good at but does not rise above what peak human performance can provide. These are generally to be used to justify what your character can be expected to be good at, and can be called back to when facing narrative challenges. Why? How are you measuring this? What is the upper limit? Again, everyone is human, and if something stands beyond human it should be in the powers. Is combat the primary theme of the site? Or is it a secondary driving force, if its primary i understand wanting to track these things, if its secondary, I circle back to the why? (Getting people to think about things their characters are strong in or weak against is more for character development, in thinking about someone’s personality. It has flavor.)
Character Flaws: What does your character struggle with, what makes them stumble. You achilles heels, your odd quirks that make people roll their eyes. Should have about as many as strengths. These are things that tend to make your character stumble, or more likely to fail when faced with these. Although overcoming them can be seen as an objective of character development these things should define the characters and overcoming them in the moment should be the result of significant effort or favorable conditions. (This seems more like a story thing to flesh out the character’s issues.)Do the character strengths and flaws have to balance each other out? Or are they independent of each other? I see that there a note stating that you need three strengths but no such note about the flaw. Should have as many flaws as strengths at least. Nothing prevents having more.
Backstory: How did your character end up to the point where they start on the site? Please write at least one paragraph. Include how they joined their affiliation if any. Please write a paragraph detailing this backstory and if you have any affiliations, how your character joined up with this group. What shaped your character to be who they are currently?
Family, Friends Etc: Include npcs connected with your character here. Family, friends, close acquaintances, people important to the characters backstory, can be added to later with mod approval(this refers to important npcs, like in the Shinsengumi or Ruling Class or say the Priest/priestesses of Ise).
Powers: The following section is where you construct your powers. The setup below is a suggestion and a higher end cap. Be aware that Passives are considered a rank lower in effect strength with the trade off of being sustained and always on unless suppressed.
Power Theme: Magic takes many forms, each one as unique as the individual that manifests them. What form does your magic take? Are you fused with a yokai, did you make a contract for power? Do you wield a sacred or cursed artifact? Do you follow a specific tradition, hermetic, Godai? Do you focus through talismans or do you use other foci like cards? Perhaps you could actually make it as a daytime TV psychic, or a fortune teller? Perhaps your expression of magic is so unique that it can’t even be listed. Can also inform abilities that You may have of D rank or lower That do not merit an entry in the sheet. (utilities like being able to dust with a gust of wind, or essentially using them as a match) May I ask why? (Themes can help with character design greatly.)
(What if themes were incorporated as the character’s known title deemed by their association or organizations and have this more as an informed suggestion than an actual theme section on a template.) (because not every character will belong to an organization this suggestion doesn’t make sense. The purpose of this portion on the character sheet is first and foremost to encourage players to think of their powers in relation to a theme, the second is to make it so that those reviewing their sheets can easily understand what the aim of the powers and characters are.)(then you can have affiliations as blank?) Are themes and affiliations the same? Getting a little confused on what'swhats the goal here. Affiliations can be blank, you can be an independent bounty hunter if you want, themes are specifically themes for your powers, like “fire mage” or “demi yokai fused with a kitsune” or “Yokai pokemon trainer” or “wielder of a blessed relic” things like that. It's essentially asking “what do you envision your character to be or where do their powers stem from?” irrespective of who they are working with.
Rank C Ability: A power that is not as taxing to use, low resource load for limited effects. This usually affects no more than Yourself or one other person at a time, and the effect is to a moderate extent. In the case of transformation, it's usually only one aspect (gain claws or tougher skin, or horns that can be used as weapons) In the case of summoning it would involve a creature of limited utility. It rises above what the average person can do, but is not considered a significant threat to public order.
Rank B Ability: Forces you to dig deeper and expend more energy to use, in exchange the effects can be more significant or wider reaching than the previous power. This class of powers can be considered dangerous in the wrong hands and the reason why your character is registered is due to its potential risk to the public. However these powers lack the level of effect that could prove utterly destructive or cause a major impact. These powers are what allow the character to be a notable threat to a full fledged yokai, but are unlikely to be instantly lethal.
Rank C Passive: An always active effect on you, a small boost that doesn't change much, but can give rise to impacts that go beyond normal human limits if only slightly.Slightly being for example, a passive healing effect that slowly heals you, or something in the realm of an emotional effect on those around your character. It varies based on the player’s character’s abilities.
