Special Games (and the need to re-acquire them)

I thought I would share this with everyone. Recently, I was able to re-acquire a few games I had lost during one of the harder points in my life. I won't really go into what happened or why it was so hard, but I will say, that I had lost a handful of some of my most favorite and interesting games. While some of these games were saved, and I was really thankful for that, I couldn't get the lost ones out of my head. So I recreated a small list of the games I really wanted to try and scoop back up.
It was a pretty short list to my credit! But, they were hard to get, that was for sure. Umbra playing Persona 3 Reload really reminded me of that this month ( I have good memories of P3 as well, though mine was the portable version). There are some games that we treasure beyond measure because of the memories we have made playing them, or even, just the fact that they are just so unique. I am a big fan of survival horror. I spent a good chunk of my teen years playing horror games, jrpgs, dungeon crawlers, and visual novels. I have a lot of my horror games untouched, but my Resident Evil File Outbreak games got sold, as did my Forbidden Siren game. There were a few other games damaged (Legends of the Dragoon for ps1) and sold (like Cursed Mountain for the Wii), but File Outbreak games hurt to lose.
This last week was kind of incredible in that I managed to get both RE: Outbreak 1&2. The first game was really cheap, the cheapest I have seen in a while, and I thought I would treat myself to it. I resigned myself to possibly waiting for #2 because it was just too expensive for the time being. The cheapest was almost forty, which is not terrible, but it was not doable. Last night, I ended up getting a message from the seller wanting to cut a good portion of it off, and when I was trying to make a decision, and dragging my feet about it, Umbra broadsided me by getting it for me.
I am pretty excited to get these back!
They were really unique for there time. It had an online co-opt mode, which was really rare for a ps2 game. In fact, I think the other one at the time was SOCOM Navy Seals. Which was really good for it's heyday, enough to where people are still a little obsessed with it. Another thing that was really neat was that you had a bunch of unique characters and their specific skill, to choose from. Resident Evil had had co-op since, but nothing like this. Just your basic two player. So it was a pretty big deal for the ps2!
I used to play as these two a lot!
I will have to give you guys an update, as well as talk about Cursed Mountain if I haven't already made a post about it. I actually found that game last year. I have two last ones on that list of recoverable games. And, I do have a wish list. If you want to hear about any of these games, let me know. I love File Outbreak a lot! So I am very willing to gush about it. I will say this about the missions in this series, there are four different ones on each game. My favorite scenarios were the Zoo (complete with zombie elephant) and the abandoned hospital in the woods (which had a corpse covered in zombie leeches)!
