Appearance: A licorice haired demure lady with thin body and fair skin carrying a scent of honey and almond milk clashing against a stern face. A pair of gold eyes scrutinizing the world around her belies several thoughts running behind the scenes. She doesn’t favor anything revealing to even resort to wearing long leggings and gloves if it can be helped in her extremely limited wardrobe. A demand for order in the environment around her accompanies her every step no matter what attire she’s in. Be it miko clothes, a kimono, or school uniform; there will be order one way or another.

Personality: A self appointed woman to the ideals of order. Mika views yokai to be utterly animalistic and chaotic to where she has a hard time fathoming what good they are compared to humans who do just about the same wrongs. Upon recognizing her latent talents, she viewed the reactions of those around her to possess ulterior motives after returning from Ise that if she were to match their pace, Mika would do the same under her terms or else be swept up. This leaves her continuing her desire for order as a mission of survival but realistically, she knowns her limits for when its better to lie in wait.
Character Strengths:
* Organization - Orderly upkeep is a must with everything in its place perfectly.
* Mental fortitude - One mustn’t show their full hand and face these trials as though to erase them. Even yokai can catch on fast when a trap is laying in wait.
* Cautious - A subtle shift in the air or expression can leave her on alert for something to come and to keep a charm ready.
* Stress management - Her life will never be fully peaceful that if the situation is beyond even her control, take it out on some poor sap later.
* Realistic - Nothing can create from nothing. Nothing can come by hope alone. Fend with what you have for a tomorrow desired.
Character Flaws:
* Frugal - Money and materials wasn’t a large issue before but a required issue that, in order to demand something, one needs a bargaining chip. A lot of it.
* Isolationist - She doesn’t view social connections to be worth the trouble they bring. It’s better to distance herself to treat matters for what is work and what is separate.
* Temperamental - Her patience is short with those that bring chaotic nature to her orderly upbringing.
* Self critical - Instilled by her teachers, failure means more training is required. A vicious cycle of self improvement and self punishment.
* Self righteous - She views those with little power in them that require her powers for trivial reasons to be no more than grass to the world.
Backstory:
Raised in Nara, her family were one of many that can be deemed a keeper of ceremonies. They’d once past down traditions at local schools and raise awareness of how young students can tread from their day-to-day lifestyles in the presence of a world recognizing yokai playing a prominent role again. Storytellers and dancers alike. Mika could recall the customs passed down and assisting children throwing salt and beans among the same age groups.
After following many children at the time to be tested on Children’s Day, Mikazuki and other children who were tested positive were given extra courses to preemptively prepare them for their roles in the future. What it meant to have powers, what could they be, how to use them, and so on were drills added on from the basic school they all knew. About a class of sixteen of those in the same age group were what she vaguely knew as her parents praised the kami with other guardians. When her powers manifested as an art of removing impurities, Mikazuki would ‘graduate’ from the group of sixteen with now a handful of children to Ise by the age of 15.
From there she has been separated from family to communicating through written letters while pursuing training in Ise of her skills and the local university to keep up with training and schooling. By 20, Mika has earned herself a notice to return to her home province of Nara to watch a shrine. The previous tenant retired with no close kin to take over and maintain its upkeep within the Ise Shrine network. She would move there immediately as new residence to revisit the locals anew.
Family, Friends Etc:
Ajibana Hiroyuki (68)- A father of the most traditional sense who keeps work and personal life separate. Last seen taking care of youth groups requiring guidance in Nara. His leathery face and wrinkled skin from working outside since his youth in Kyoto and Tokyo. Enjoys plume sake and remising about the old days of his youth before retirement. They contact by letters frequently to keep in touch over the years. He is highly adverse to technology of today.
Lieutenant Tetsuhiko: (47) Of the Iroku yakuza clan based in Nara. A man that scouted her for a job offer once arriving in Nara as an acquaintance with the class of sixteen to welcome Mika back from her time in Ise. He looks youthful with long hair and turquoise blue eyes and predominately wears a red jacket over his suit. Formal and curt, he wastes little time mincing words and focuses on accomplishments.
Priestess Kagurahime: (40 )The lady that mentored Mika during her time in Ise decorated in silver metal accessories and headdresses like a crown headdress that stand out over her bright blonde hair and equally bright gold eyes. A ranked Daijyugi, high priestess, among the holy members of Ise, she was part of several who valued the appearance of how their order should behave in the public in maintaining order in the presence of yokai. As well presiding over what the appearance and behavior of a miko should be, she does train with full expectation in drawing out her pupil’s skills and expects nothing else.
Powers: Cleansing by means of a barrier that causes area purification of the space within via a combination of charms she personally blesses. For self defense, typically something light weight on hand to be blessed such as a broom, slipper, or a paper parasol for example as her training has been rather spiritually focused than wielding heavy items in robes.
Power Theme: Mikazuki’s theme is of a Kirin and its ability to purify spaces where it goes yet will also combat evil if encountering such creatures that threaten it. Mika would be using her abilities as traps and field control as her weapons against the supernatural to gradually learning binding pillars and using the barriers themselves as a weaponized extension of herself. The kirin is a type of deer yokai. With Nara prefecture famous for many deer in the area as legends say a deer messenger from god arrived there and thus Nara views deer positively that they roam freely in the area and temple grounds.
Rank C Ability: “Secure.”
An ability that triggers from her charm when thrown or activated by vocal command, creating a rectangular cage to trap evil and purge the area within. Activating more charms add extra anchor points folded upon the target, up to 5, to reduce escape for larger targets that struggle. Often takes the form of a pyramid or a rectangle with layers folding over as more charms are added for reinforcement. Requires a blessed charm as a medium to use each time.
Rank B Ability: “Lockdown.”
A field barrier is created in one of two ways. One is either centered around herself and extended outwards or from outside charms placed beforehand and encasing those around once the vocal command is released that doesn’t require her to be the epicenter. Both cover a space of 10 meters. Overtime the area within gradually absorbs negative energy as it filters the place. The space within can be considered holy with multiple tools and martial weapons can be blessed at once so long as they are within the acting space. Mika can move around freely once the barrier parameters are laid out. Once the barrier is lowered or broken, it’s difficult to make a new one without recovering energy, repairing any physical damages or what charm points were broken if used to summon from outside.
Rank C Passive: “Strings of Fate”
A vision to see the karmic weights of people actions in the form of strings. Typically these string are red an bind around people in a way Mika can see like the fables of strings connecting others. However, the strings seen in her vision hang in a space and rarely connected to anyone unless they’re directly in the same room together. Ise described this to her as a visual representation of past deeds that weigh upon a person’s consciousness and soul without context. Be it resent past or a past life in unclear. The more karma someone has, the strings turn to chains. The longer the karma has been with them, these chains are rusted and spiked into the person than merely chained upon. Mika can’t tell if this is the weight of guilt or misdeeds, if this person is powerful or not. It is up to Mika if she views the person to be a danger to herself or not.
