" I dont really want to flaunt em, but I also don't want to be a liability, lots of people have been expecting a lot from me, would be nice to stop letting them down." He understood the underlying feeling, unlike other members of his family he was unremarkable, he didn't have his grandfather's skills or his father's charisma nor his mother's knowledge. For the longest time he chased being the ideal son, maybe if he worked hard enough, his water would stop disappearing for months on end, maybe his mother would care to actually get to know him, instead of sending a post card once a year. He now found himself picking up the pieces of his life from those short-lived rebellious years. " Just don't find yourself waking up regretting the last few years of your life," he looked at the kid, a part of him resented having to give up so much of what he thought made him a person, but looking back, he didn't think he could give up Raitaro, or the path his life was not on. " Yup, I just need somewhere safe to change." " We are not too terribly far from the academy" he stated " But if you don't want to walk in that direction" between 'Pan-chan' and the rest of the school he understood if they did not want to approach in their current state of dress. " My place is not too far from here." the bookstore was relatively close to the academy which helped with some of the foot traffic, even if his grandfather preferred the idea of hidden place. Raitaro looked at the two and their continual Haikus which he did not fully understand, " You speak funny" he tilted his head to a side, slight confusion on his features. He turned toward Wataru, as Momiji made it clear that she would pay for the food, meaning he did not have to hear Wataru ask him if he had secretly discovered he was an Obariyon, "Were eating right?" Wataru gave him a reassuring look. " As long as you mind your manners" " I can order with my phone, so let me know where we are going and I will place an order. They can cook it while we walk." " Thank you" he did not have any complaints on her paying, he would find a way to even the scales down the line, " Honestly haven't had pizza in a few years, so I'll trust you two on picking a place" he looked at the kid who kept trying to return to the water, " Kid..." he said softly causing the boy to shuffle back under the umbrella. " We should get going." " We should," he agreed, " I said my piece on where he can change" he looked at Raitaro and Momiji, " And both of you could do with drying out a little." he did think most places would take too kindly of them soaking their seats, " Kiddo want to try to tell the storm to leave?" he asked Raitaro who glared at Wataro and gave a quick and solid " No! Rain Stays" Wataru shrugged, he didn't think he would win that one, but he thought he should ask that way they were not walking through the worsening weather.

"Of course, that's why I will walk my path, no mmatter how many people try to make me suffer for it." he said, his chest puffed out and proud. The cat-like boy was prideful, but always took the path he believed in regardless of the cost or consequence.
As Momiji spoke haru nodded, "Well add me to the list once i train enough and get strong enough i'll set those not so great men straight." he said, there was a hotblooded and rather spicy tendency he had. Like the kind of a cat that would fearlessly chase a bear up a tree. He turned to Wataru, "If it's not too much of an imposition. Sorry, to be an inconvenience." he said in a muted way.
"Ah, that's called haiku, we can teach you later if you want, Taro-chan." he said with a wide grin to the kid.
As they began to walk, he accepted Momiji's offer of shelter from the rain, but he also found it embarrassing, as he was shirtless and so close to her it was strange, and a slightly crimson shade rose to his face. He didn't even notice how coold the wind was on his drenched skin. And he kept catching this smell off of her, he couldn't describe it but it made him want to move, to run, to chase. it was like it was activating something inside him, like she was the catalyst to instincts he had never felt before. He moved in close, but did everything he could to avoid brushing up against her. There was not a lot of room under it after all.

"Yes we are still eating." Her stomach growled a little. It wanted meat, surely. "So, bookstore then? What's the address?" She wanted to get the pizza ordered and quickly. The sound of the rain was almost starting to be deafening against her umbrella. And Saito-san was pretty close. She didn't realize it, but he was and when she did, she tried to suck it up and not be flustered. "Ah." Momiji huffed a little, not in frustration but at the urge to try to keep composure.
"You are not an inconvenience Saito-san. Only if you resist."
It was her attempt at a joke, trying to get him and possibly the others to laugh. She was Shinsengumi after all, even if she was a first year one. She tired to also not think about the fact that she was wet and her clothing was a little transparent and stuck to her. This could happen in the field after all. She tapped on her phone, trying to do a quick online order. Three pizzas, a soda for them, and chicken strips. To the asking of what language they had spoke, she thought to herself. "Poetry, specifically haiku is a very fine art. Samurai and nobility alike enjoy it, even if it is somewhat archaic."
"Drip drop, let it rain It calms my raging heart I just want to nap."

" Of course, that's why I will walk my path, no matter how many people try to make me suffer for it." He could see that he had pride and, he was not going fault him for it, he hoped he would succeed in his goals, just because he had some bad experiences in the past did not mean everyone would suffer the same, although he had a feeling the same usually suspects were involved in most people's challenges in life. " Hope you succeed" " Yes we are still eating." Haru grinned a toothy grin at the confirmation that food would be in their future. He tried to imagine what Pizza might look like, he was told cheese was involved, which he liked, but it was a type of baked sandwich, he had eaten something called a grilled cheese, did it mean it would go crunch? He furrowed his frow as he tried to imagine what it might taste like or even smell like, he liked trying new things, apparently it was something Wataru had eaten in the past which made him wonder why he had not tried it yet. " So, bookstore then? What's the address?" Wataru provided Momiji the address, he knew there was space they could dry up there and well it would get them out of the rain promptly. " If it's not too much of an imposition. Sorry, to be an inconvenience." " If it was an inconvenience, I would not offer" he responded, there were some contradictions on Haru, he could see the fire of a warrior, yet he seemed to temper himself, it didn't seem like fear, but it was interesting to see, made him wonder if this was birth from his concern about his powers. He snickered at Momiji's comment but held his tongue in making any obvious observation seem to him that there was a natural attraction between the two. " Kid take the lead" Raitaro heard the explanation of what Haiku was seem interesting if a little funny, they seem to keep saying stuff in three sentences, and made him think as he nodded at the offer of learning " Yes, please" he told Haru before taking the lead, he was not going to say no to the opportunity to walk under the rain. As he marched along in a relative fast pace, he kid though of all the Haikus the two had uttered, the one thing he noticed was they all had three sentences so he gave it a try.
"Haiku three sentence Yum pizza cheese sandwich Is this a haiku?"

"Well, there really isn't much of a choice. I can only succeed eventually." he said as much to himself as to wataru, "I'll die before i give up." there was a fire in his eyes the same fire that had been present before. Something was driving this kid, was it pride, his family, or something else?
when she said only if i resist his face turned a little red. He wasn't sure why that excited him a bit but he tried to clamp down on that feeling, that instinct. Her haiku struck a chord with him as he nodded, and then Raitaro made his own attempt at it. It was not a traditional haiku, it was one syllable short, but haru didn't feel the need to correct him.
"Sure, that works just fine. for someone so young it was very impressive." he said as he felt the tension break a bit. he grinned to the kid, glad for the distraction.
"A refreshing take Raitaro-chan learns so much practice brings more skills"
He said with a grin, trying to focus on the kid more than these unfamiliar feelings and racing heart. he followed behind them, glad to see that today took a turn for the better.

"Haiku three sentence
Yum pizza cheese sandwich
Is this a haiku?"
"I believe it is."
It was a valiant effort in her mind. Especially for a kid too. She beamed at him, her glasses slipping a little on her nose. "I think that earns a very big pizza, indeed." She stole a glance at Haru, mostly when he said he would die before failing with his ideals, with his dream. This was something she felt as well. It was something that spoke to her heart.
"The path of the sword The edge is fine and swift It is do or die."
There was no other way in her mind, simply the expression of oneself. How could someone explain it really? All of those samurai death poems. The honor, death, and blood. It was fleeting and almost as cliche as cherry blossoms, like the older folks said. The wet shirt she wore was sticking to her and she barely felt it for the heat of her feelings.
She kept up the pace behind Raitaro, still holding the umbrella for Saito-san as they walked, which probably forced him to move a little faster. Her stomach was still growling really. It would be pretty nice to get out of this weather and get something to eat.

"Well, there really isn't much of a choice. I can only succeed eventually. I'll die before i give up."
"No need to die" he shook his head, but he understood the feeling there where a few things in his life that he would fight till the end, and lately most of it was Raitaro, the little one deserved a reach chance, and that was not going to happen if the world even after all these years still could do better in allowing Yokai around without always thinking that they are up to some mischief or worse.
Raitaro turned around walking backwards for a few steps a big grin on his face as he was informed that his attempt was a success, pivoting around he upped the tempo of their walk, his excitement literally jumping off his skin as sparks crackled around his skin and the static caused his hair to stand on end.
Wataru was going to say something to the kid, but he opted to let him enjoy himself, the rain splashed against the kids' skin and the sparks arcing as he moved, Wataru knew that this would just cause the kid to drain himself sooner than later, and no one would be hurt.
"We are almost there" Wataru spoke up, "Kid go long" he pulled the store keys lobing it in such an arc that it would avoid the two before him and get a fair bit of distance, the kid turned around just long enough to flash a big toothy smile. He started to run, sparks dancing around him with even more intensity, not to far from where they where he stopped almost sliding on the wet pavement but sticking the landing, the keys kept flying pass him but as kid stretched his hand the usually invisible electromagnetic lash was just visible enough against the drops with a subtle tug of his fingers the keys flew to his hands. He started to jump in place celebrating his 'Catch' "I caught IT!"

"Of course not." haru chirped back to Wataru as he responded to his declaration, "Cause i'm not gonna fail." he said simply, as if it were an ironclad fact, an unchangable part of the universe. he turned to momiji as she finished her haiku, his eyes blazing with a determination that so very few could ever hope to match. "Of course, Momiji-san, Do or die and I am never idle." he nodded to her, it sounded like something similar to a promise or a confession the way he said it.
"If you get the opportunity i would love the chance to train with you, Momiji-san." he said. A part of him desperately wanted to cross swords with her, but another part of him wanted something he didn't really understand. Training was clearly the best option.
It was always the best option!
Haru kept pace with momiji, she might notice a feline quality to his mannerisms and movements, even the way he walked had a certain almost indescribable grace to it. "Nice cacth Raitaro-chan, you're the best!" haru called out excitedly. "Now we're counting on you to get us out of this rain!"

"I think we can arrange that Saito-san. My senpai teaches swordsmanship to the Shiensengumi. I was also a student of the current sword master for the high school." She saw that look in his eyes and wondered. It was the place where samurai death poetry among other things came from and she could smell that.
As the three walked in the rain, Raitaro seemed to get them to the store just fine. It was interesting. Momiji had not been in here, let alone noticed it before, yet could not place why. She moved to wipe the wetness on the mats, as not to take any inside. It looked like the pizza guy came up around the same time they did.
"Are any of you Fujiwara-san?" He looked among the teens and kid. Momiji spoke up. "I am. I paid both the meal and the tip through your app." She seemed to get hungrier with each wiff. "There are three pizzas, a two liter, some chicken strips and sauces. Is that right?" She nodded and held out her arms for them, he stared a little because of the wet clothing she was wearing, but gave it to her with a dumb look on his face. "Can I -?" He started to ask for her number.
"I'm Shinesengumi."
"So.. no?"
She nodded again. "Enjoy your tip." She went to walk the pizza inside. "Enjoy your meal miss!" He gulped as she walked them into the shop with the food.

OOC: Sorry just realized I missed this one *face palm* The bookstore had an ephemeral air to its existence, the stacks of books and bookcases seem to cover from documents to old they looked like they would crumble from incorrect handling to modern media, there was somewhat of a discordant tone of the place, as they moved further in there was a counter with sitting, some of the counter had a glass cut out where some of the pastries would be presented, though currently it was empty.
"I'll get some plates", Wataru offered as he closed the door being everyone, he was not trying to get customers at this time. "Feel free to put things in the counter," And he was hoping to keep things clean and organized to the best of his ability, "If you want to dry out more, feel free to fallow me" making his way to the back past the counter he pointed to the door to the small western style bathroom, "There should be some towels in there." He kept walking past into the small kitchen area and he gathered the supplies.
Raitaro bounded his way to his corner of the counter a small stack of papers and crayons seem to live in that corner, he tried to draw, but water keep dripping on his paper causing him to get annoyed and change sheet.

Haru was completely oblivious to the guy hitting on her, not sure exactly what he was trying to do, but he noticed how stand offish she was. he wondered for a second why she wasn't treating him in a similar way. It was probably because he was too weak for her to respect. she was a member of the elite shinsengumi, of course she would only bother with those who had at least the potential for strength. That must have been it.
Haru followed and entered with careful grace, slipping off his shoes upon entering and being careful to place them aside so they didnt get other shoes wet. he walked gingerly, turning to momiji, "You should change first," he said to momiji, "I'll be fine to wait a second." he said as he waited patiently at the door. He looked around taking in the kind of place they were in, it was new and interesting, he wondered why he had never been around here before.

"Ah I thank you Sato-san." She bowed to him demurely, eyes never leaving him really. Momiji tried not to drip on the rug. The smell of pizza made her stomach a bit noisy and there was tons of meat on one of them. She could smell it, and didn't want to drool, though, her shirt would not have been impacted much. She went into the offered place with her bag, and changed, though, she had only her actual Shinesengumi uniform, which was a little short in her opinion. It was a pleated Navy skirt, formal shirt and the short version of the Shinsengumi coat. She straightened her hair as well.
"We can wait a little for you Sato-san." Momij gathered a towel up from where she had been and brought it to Raitaro to wrap around him. "Can't enjoy soggy pizza." She tried to dry him a little and to blot up the water. Momiji had siblings at home, though they all were a lot older now. She kind of missed them. "How about one pizza for each mighty fist?" She was ready to help with that.

Wataru returned with plates and other utensils in case someone wanted to use them. He watched as both Momiji and Haru dry up, Momiji having her spare uniform. Which made him think, did Haru have any spare clothing? He seemed to have a similar built to his, so he walked to where he kept some of his old stuff, and came back with a bundle of clothes, "If you want you can try these" he offered him, after all Haru had jumped in the drink to get his phone. These being Wataru's old streetware, before he took care of the Kid. Black pants, a blood red dress shirt, and a black leather jacket. "The jacket hides some of the repairs", he pointed at some of the areas where blade had cut through the shirt and had been repaired.
"Or don't wear them" he shrugged and decided to join the kid at the counter. Today had gotten long and the temptation of lighting a cigarette was itching on the back of his mind. "What you got there kid?" he asked Raitaro who had finally dried up enough to finally start drawing, "Us" the kid responded as he had a blue water fixture and a doodled person in the water with an object that seem to be a phone in his hand.

Haru bowed a bit as he took the offered clothes. "Thank you, I appreciate it!" he said as he walked over to the place to change, "I'll go quick so I should be back in a flash." he jumped in to the room, and changed in a blur. Scarcely a couple minutes had gone by before he stepped back out. Haru, dressed almost like a street ruffian with his wild Ponytail made quite a difference in how he appeared. With more rough clothes, it really sold the idea of an action guy. "I'm not sure if it suits me, but beggars cant be choosers huh?"
He stepped out to join the rest and noticed the kid's drawing, "Hey that looks pretty cool!" he said with a grin at raitaro. "So, Thank you for the food, and for the clothes." he said bowing as was proper and polite.

Momiji had bent to look at the drawing Raitaro had. "Very artistic. I like that there." She pointed at one of the figures on page. She hoped that her new friend saved the little boy's art. There would be a time where he might not be so little any more. She thought of her own brother. "My little brother likes to draw too." When was the last time she had been home though? The Shinsengumi did not allow much of that. It was always some sort of training, tracking or heaven forbid deployment that got nasty. She was almost a year two recruit. At the end of the year decisions would have to be made.
"Ah-." Haru had startled her. "Do not mention it Saito-san." If one could turn a little red she might have.. She had to avert her eyes a little. Her face felt hot but she hoped her face did not show. "I think we could all use something to eat. Let's do so before it gets cold." He head had dipped a little in a return of that bow and she moved to help serve pizza. There was kind of a lot there. "The red looks good." It was her favorite, though not quite as dark.
