Appearance: A light rosy skinned individual, she carries herself with grace but with a certain mystery about her. Her knee length dark brown hair allows her to put her hair up in tight yet beautiful hairstyles, like an updo bun, a side ponytail, or a long geisha-like hairstyle. She has hazel eyes, which often has a sultry gaze on her features. There are two sides of her fashion, one of those sides is her chinese hanfu, long flowing dresses that is loose fitting. The other side of her fashion is her jumpsuits and her tight-fitting gear that she uses when she is in her detective job, just custom made to showcase her chinese heritage.
Belongings: Hairpins, flute, rope, throwing knives, lipstick, small sais.
Personality: Qi Xialin is the kind of woman that one moment will make you feel safe and that you can trust her. While true allies of her can attest to this observation, to her enemies or any who wronged her, she is a quietly vindictive woman who is plotting their downfall in the shadows. She is very flirty, often teasing ones who don't know better or are very hard to flirt with, because she likes the chase and the thrill of it all. She is also intelligent, often thinking of her next move.
Character Strengths:
Agile- She is very good at acrobatics and has above average reflexes from some years of training.
Charismatic-Most of her gathering information means she finds it easy to strike up a conversation with somebody
Stealthy- She excels in jobs that require to be quiet like assassination and sneaking into places. This most likely comes from her ninja training
Character Flaws:
Lack of shame- some say its a good thing that she doesn't have anything to be ashamed of, but this can be a bit extreme in some peoples eyes. The desperate acts that she can do just comes easily in a blink of her eyes and she barely feels any remorse, from fun ones to not so fun ones. And it leans toward the not so fun ones.
Commitment issues- Now this is more towards her relationships but it could be her back and forth from NAPI and the Yokai Hunters Guild as her main job. She doesn't like to stay long in something if it gets boring after a while. This doesn't mean she can't be faithful, if it's for her benefit or if she manages to find someone who she genuinely likes. Just most of the time expect heartbreak or worse (within reason)
Apathetic towards others- At times, she doesn't know what to do to comfort someone if they are in pain or if something bad happened. It's basically telling them to just keep on trucking through, without thinking too much on how it would effect them in the long run
Backstory: Xialin was born in Chengdu, China in the middle class family of Qi. The family were known for starting some sort of trade for the west. She learned at a young age to know which items were actually worth selling and had value and which ones weren't really worth the hype that people don't know any better. Her mother and father had doted on her when she was a toddler, calling her their precious Jade. As time grew on at the age of 6, the dragon emperor ordered families across the West to give their children up and make them assassins or upcoming soldiers to try to eventually conquer china. Xialin was taken away from her her parents. Her mother wept for her child's innocence and her father wept for the chance that he could continue the family business. For the next 6 years of her young life, Xialin would be placed in training for assassination, information gathering, martial arts like wing chun and mizhonyi, and some of the arts to look delicate. It was taxing but she did become very good at it, almost in the the top 20 rising assassins of west China.
Both of her parents decided that enough was enough and after a brief period which some of the children could go back home and relax, they decided to take Xialin to start a better life somewhere else in china, more specifically south china at Hong Kong, but Xialin knew that if they left her town, the west would try to quickly look for her. Xialin did quickly help her father grow his business in foreign goods, as Hong Kong had flourished in trade and commerce and saved up enough money to send her off to Korea, which she only lived for a year til her parents managed to send more money for another flight. This flight would send her to Japan.
She got her citizenship in japan and took the name Umenokouji Suihou. She finished some schooling by living with a couple of her boyfriends that she had made over her teenage years. After that sometime, she permanently moved to Osaka. She was admittedly a little lost on what to do for herself now that she was not ordered by an oppessive emperor stuck to his own ways. So she did stick to what she thought was best, getting the hit on people that she felt deserved it, a free range assassin by night, but she needed a more noble job to cover that up.
Starting her early 20's she wanted to get a job of being a NAPI and applied there in both her chinese name and her japanese name. She was accepted and things were good for a while, learning where to look and some good money, but then it got kinda boring for her after a year so she went to the yokai hunters guild and applied there to get accepted. She learned quite a bit on taking out different yokai and where to really find them. She was primarily in the guild for about a couple years before she wanted to take a step back and go back to the NAPI. On one mission, she went to go to an adoption center for a disturbance and found what would become her little pug Chi Chi. She wasn't hurt and she got to keep her as part of the reward. Osaka is a nice town, but she could always find ways to make her quality of life better...
Family, Friends Etc: Qi Xiaopei- Her 49 year old mother, she had short black hair and was 5'9" tall of average weight. She met Guan shortly after leaving high school and opened a small yoga studio. She truly didn't like the fact that they lived in a divided China and possibly in the more dangerous part of China by that means. She suggested that when the time was right that they get out of there. She lives in Hong Kong now with Guan.
Qi Guan- Her father whose 54 years old. He's 5'4" and a bit of a chubbier man. Guan had tried earning his fortune as a merchant selling any foreign goods that he could find ever since he was a kid. He wanted Xialin to inherit his business but was met with the emperors orders to take Xialin from him. He lives in Hong Kong with his wife and is continuing the business til he can safely trust it to an apprentice.
Chi chi- Her doggo. She is a pug and 1 year old. Xialin spoils her with treats and a good bed. Very vocal and has a pink bow on her ear. They met in a puppy adoption center when Chi chi was only a few weeks old.
Powers: Combat specialist with assassin training. Likely Ninjutsu.
Power Theme: Assassin training with pressure points and weaknesses. Weapons training, as well as mizongyi (or mizõngquán or Ensei-ken if you want to go japanese with the terminology) and wing chun. her spontaneity and weapons training allows her to take advantage of items and setting in an environment for combat.
Rank C Ability: Somnersalt kick- She flips her body, kicking upward to launch opponent in the air before landing back in place.
Rank B Ability: Pressure crit- This move she throws a couple of her knives in a tight circle in one area and once it's in contact with the skin, she quickly lunges forward feet first, pressing the knives even further and making a prominent piercing pain in the area.
Rank C Passive: Slient steps- Due to her assassin training, her footsteps are much quieter to hear, allowing her to essentially sneak up on enemies easier.
